- Os suecos, At The Gates, vão editar no dia 18 de maio de 2018 o novo disco de originais, «To Drink From The Night Itself».
O novo trabalho foi gravado nos Parlour Studios, em Inglaterra, por Russ Russell.
Sobre o novo trabalho, o vocalista Tomas Lindberg disse o seguinte:
"We have wrapped up the recordings of the new record, and we are super psyched! It has been a smooth process, and very creatively fullfilling. All people that we have worked with on this project have stepped up to our vision of the final product, and we are very excited about the result.
As you might have seen, we have worked with Russ Russel on this one, and he is really a master of getting the most intense takes out of us, and also has an ear for the rawness that we were after for this one. The vocals were recorded with Per Stålberg here in Gothenburg, and he always makes me deliver to a 100%. Right now we are getting the mastering done, and every new song that is bounced to us produces huge grins on our faces. This album sounds hungry and mean.
The title of our new record will be "To Drink From The Night Itself", and it is, again a conceptual record. More details about the concept will be revealed once the album is more on its way. But it connects with the deep roots of the band, and has connections with some of the themes on "The Red In The Sky Is Ours".

- Os canadianos, Kataklysm, vão editar o novo disco de originais «Meditations» em abril deste ano, através da Nuclear Blast Records.
O novo trabalho foi produzido por Jean-François Dagenais e Oli Beaudoin, misturado por Jay Ruston e masterizado por Paul Logus.

- O novo disco de estúdio dos Judas Priest já tem nome: "Firepower".
A edição está prevista para Março de 2018 e foi produzido por Tom Allon e Andy Sneap, juntamente com o engenheiro de som, Mike Exeter.
A banda regressa a Portugal no dia 2 de Julho, na primeira parte de Ozzy Osbourne, para um concerto único na Altice Arena.
A digressão estende-se pelos vários festivais de verão, incluindo a participação no festival Bloodstock Open Air, onde serão cabeças de cartaz na sexta-feira, dia 10 de agosto de 2018.
Em março, a banda passa pelos Estados Unidos para uma digressão juntamente com os Saxon e Black Star Riders.
Os Judas Priest anunciaram recentemenre que Glenn Tipton sofre de Parkinson e não irá acompanhar a banda em digressão, sendo substituído por Andy Sneap.

- Os Kamelot vão ser um dos cabeças-de-cartaz do festival Vagos Metal Fest.
O anúncio foi feito por Thomas Youngblood durante uma entrevista exclusiva para o Metal Global e revista LOUD!, no qual o guitarrista confirma que a banda regressa a Portugal para encabeçar o festival que decorre em Vagos de 9 a 12 de Agosto.
Apesar de a organização do festival ainda não ter anunciado oficialmente os cabeças-de-cartaz do festival, os Kamelot parecem já estarem então de malas feitas para Vagos.
Tendo em conta que a banda toca em Espanha no Leyendas no dia 8, em Inglaterra no Bloodstock dia 10 e tem data prevista para o festival Alcatraz na Bégica dia 11, a banda deverá tocar em Vagos no dia 9 ou dia 12 (se não cancelar a data do festival Alcatraz no dia 11).
A banda vai editar o novo disco, «The Shadow Theory», dia 6 de abril através da Napalm Records.
- Foi com um video no YouTube que os Slayer anunciaram que o fim da banda está a chegar! Depois de 35 anos no activo, a banda de Kerry King e Tom Araya, planeia fazer mais uma última digressão mundial antes de dizerem adeus.
Os Slayer olham para os 37 anos de carreira com uma série de videos. Aqui fica o primeiro:

Sobre o novo trabalho, Sagrath, afirmou: "«Eonian» represents the illusion of time, everything that is and always has been. For us, it also marks the 25th anniversary of DIMMU BORGIR and the album itself is a tribute to our own history and the Norwegian black metal history.”
